Join us for the 17th annual 94.9 The Point Radiothon to benefit CHKD. Again in 2018, November 7-9, 94.9 The Point’s beloved morning show hosts Mike and WooWoo will give radio listeners a unique glimpse into the world of Children’s Hospital of The King’s Daughters. Tune in alongside their more than 300,000 weekly listeners to hear stories of our patients and families and help us raise critical dollars for the more than 400,000 children who rely on CHKD’s services every year. 100% of dollars raised support CHKD’s people, places and programs.

About Children’s Hospital of The King’s Daughters (CHKD):
Over the past 50 years, CHKD has grown into a 206-bed teaching hospital that is the heart of an extensive pediatric health care system. Today, that system provides comprehensive medical care to children at the hospital and multi-service health centers in Virginia Beach, Newport News, Chesapeake, Hampton and Suffolk. Its services include everything from wellness and prevention initiatives to primary care, surgery and rehabilitation. Many of its unique services and programs address pressing public health needs that would otherwise go unmet.

  • 595,000 outpatient visits to CHKD
  • 378,395 visits to primary care pediatricians of CHKD’s Medical Group in 18 practices and 29 offices throughout our service area
  • 47,976 visits to surgical group practices resulting in 13,043 surgical cases
  • 550 patient admissions to the NICU
  • 5,292 patient admissions resulting in 47,218 discharged patient days in our Norfolk hospital 
  • 1,948 patients transported; of those 408 were newborns coming to the NICU
  • 53,151 urgent care visits
  • 4,650 visits to CHKD's Child Abuse Program
